Aviation Technician

Overall Purpose

The purpose of this position is to perform maintenance of the facilities and ensure that, into-plane fueling activities are done safely, effectively, and efficiently, whilst maintaining the JIG Quality Control and Operating Standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Class 1 Artisan, Mechanical Fitter/ Fitter &Turner (machinist) or related trades.
• Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or any related technical course.
• Minimum post qualification working experience of three (3) years.
• Exposure of petroleum or mining industries will be an added advantage
• Knowledge of aviation operations and products will be an added advantage.
• Class 2 driver's license.
• Good knowledge of approved and acceptable Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) and Security requirements, which apply to the Airfield Operation especially JIGHSSEMS.
• Carry out all operations in compliance with the JIG 1 and JIG 2 standards.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance on both the fixed and mobile equipment.
• Expertise in the operation, repair and maintenance in the correct functionality of both the fixed and the mobile equipment’s safety interlock control systems i.e. pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Carry out routine and mandatory equipment checks and inspections including calibrations.
