Job Summary
The Commercial Director will be responsible for leading and driving the commercial strategy of the organization, ensuring revenue growth, market expansion, and competitive positioning within the poultry industry. The role involves overseeing sales, marketing, business development, and customer relationship management while ensuring alignment with the company’s overall strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Business Growth
- Develop and implement a robust commercial strategy that drives sales growth and market share within the poultry sector.
- Identify new revenue opportunities, expansion strategies, and partnerships to enhance business performance.
- Lead market research initiatives to stay ahead of industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activities.
- Work closely with senior leadership to align commercial strategies with overall business objectives.
2. Sales & Revenue Management
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and profitability goals.
- Oversee key account management, ensuring strong relationships with major customers, distributors, and suppliers.
- Establish pricing strategies that balance profitability with market competitiveness.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, making data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
3. Marketing & Brand Development
- Develop marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness and customer engagement.
- Oversee advertising, digital marketing, and promotional campaigns to drive product demand.
- Lead product positioning and ensure a strong brand presence in the poultry market.
- Conduct consumer and market research to inform marketing decisions.
4. Operational & Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with production, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution of sales and distribution strategies.
- Ensure optimal inventory levels and supply chain efficiency to meet market demand.
- Provide leadership to commercial teams, ensuring training, development, and performance management.
5. Customer Relationship & Stakeholder Management
- Foster strong relationships with key customers, government agencies, and industry stakeholders.
- Lead negotiations with major clients and partners to secure long-term contracts and strategic deals.
- Enhance customer service and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
6. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure commercial operations comply with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard the company’s commercial interests.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role within sales, marketing, or business development.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the poultry industry, agribusiness, FMCG, or food production.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in sales forecasting, pricing strategies, digital marketing, and business analytics.
- Leadership & Soft Skills: Excellent negotiation, communication, and strategic thinking skills. Ability to lead and inspire high-performing teams.
