Duties and Responsibilities
- Directly responsible for the coordination and supervision of all boiler operations and activities.
- Checks daily logs to determine proper operation of equipment.
- Prepares daily and monthly reports of boiler resources usage and efficiencies.
- Makes estimates of labor and or materials required for production and maintenance.
- Directly responsible for critical spares and raising requisitions.
- Identifies staff development and recommends training needs.
- Ensures compliance to company and government regulating policies and procedures.
- Ensures a safe and healthy working environment at all times.
- Knowledge of boiler plant and auxiliary systems operations.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems in steam distribution systems.
Qualifications and Experience
- Five ‘O’ level passes including Mathematics and English at Grade B or better.
- Apprenticeship trained class 1.
- Technical training in Steam Generation and Distribution required. (Boiler Operator Certificate)
- At least 5 years’ practical relevant experience in steam generation
- A minimum of 3 years in a supervisory position.
