Role Overview
The Group Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for driving sustainable growth, operational integration, profitability, and innovation across all business units. The role requires strong corporate stewardship, ethical leadership, and the ability to deliver long-term stakeholder value while positioning the Group as a trusted pharmaceutical and personal care brand in Africa, the Middle East, and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall strategic leadership and direction to the Group.
- Drive profitable growth, business transformation, and operational excellence across manufacturing, wholesale, retail, and product development.
- Lead regional and international market expansion, particularly within Africa and the Middle East (Dubai).
- Ensure strong corporate governance, compliance, risk management, and ethical leadership.
- Oversee financial performance, capital allocation, and value creation.
- Promote operational integration, synergies, and standardization across business units.
- Build and develop high-performing executive and management teams.
- Champion innovation, digital transformation, and sustainability (ESG) initiatives.
- Engage effectively with the Board, shareholders, regulators, and other key stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Strategic Management,
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering,
- Additional qualifications in Corporate Governance, Leadership, or International Business will be an advantage.
- Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g. Institute of Directors, Pharmaceutical Society, or equivalent) is desirable.
Experience
- Minimum of 15 years’ progressive executive leadership experience, with at least 8 years at senior management or C-suite level.
- Proven leadership experience within the pharmaceutical or FMCG sector.
- Demonstrated success in managing multi-divisional operations across manufacturing, wholesale, retail, and product development.
- Track record of regional and international expansion, particularly in African markets and the Middle East.
- Strong background in corporate strategy, profitability management, and business transformation.
- Experience in board-level engagement, governance, and stakeholder management.
