KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Communicate procurement policies, procedures and guidelines to internal stakeholders within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Facilitate the end-to-end procurement process by applying appropriate procurement methods in line with the Organisational policies and international best practices.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders through the procurement system in accordance with approved thresholds.
  • Compile and analyse bid evaluations, including comparative schedules detailing pricing, lead times, and other relevant factors.
  • Recommend suppliers for contract award based on objective evaluation criteria, subject to managerial review and approval.
  • Liaise with the Stores/Inventory function to ensure proper receipt and verification of goods and services.
  • Coordinate with the Finance Department to facilitate timely processing of supplier payments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records both electronic and hard copy, in compliance with audit requirements.
  • Identify, evaluate and recommend potential suppliers to ensure a reliable and competitive supplier base.
  • Monitor supplier performance and contract compliance, taking corrective action where necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards to uphold transparency and accountability.
  • Conduct market research and price analysis to support cost-effective purchasing decisions and value for money.
  • Promote fair, transparent, and competitive procurement practices in all purchasing activities.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and service providers.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE


The ideal candidate should have:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing and Supply Management.
  • Professional qualifications such as Diploma in Purchasing/CIPS is an advantage.
  • 2 years’ experience in procurement and supply chain management.
