Position Overview:
We are seeking an innovative and passionate Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead our organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in microfinance, social entrepreneurship, or financial services, with a deep commitment to women’s empowerment, change management and community development. The CEO will be responsible for setting strategic direction, overseeing organizational operations, and enhancing our impact in the communities we serve.
Overall, Job Purpose
Zimbabwe Women’s Microfinance Bank is inviting dynamic and transformational leaders who are qualified and experienced persons to apply for the post of Chief Executive Officer. The Chief Executive Officer’s mandate is to provide institutional leadership and oversight, develop, and drive the vision, mission and strategy of the Microfinance bank. The candidate will be reporting to the Board of Directors.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the organization’s vision, mission, and strategic goals, ensuring alignment with our commitment to women's empowerment and social impact.
- Program Development: Design, promote, and evaluate programs that support women entrepreneurs and foster economic growth in underrepresented communities.
- Financial Management: Oversee the organization’s financial health, ensuring sustainable growth, and effective allocation of resources.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, donors, and regulatory bodies to enhance our network and support growth.
- Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a diverse team, fostering an inclusive and empowering workplace culture that prioritizes professional development and collaboration.
- Advocacy: Represent ZWMB at industry events and in public forums, advocating for policies and practices that support women’s empowerment and access to finance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Management, Technology, or related discipline.
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification (required).
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in financial services, with at least 5 years at executive leadership level.
- Proven track record in leading large, complex organizations or business units.
- Demonstrated success in strategy execution, transformation, and profitability growth.
- Developmental Finance: Experience in designing financial interventions for disadvantaged groups, such as rural populations and women.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse stakeholders.
- A passion for social impact and a commitment to the mission of empowering women.
