KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with international accounting standards.
- Review and analyses data from departments and sections for incorporation in the notes to the financial statements
- Ensure that all reconciling items are cleared to give a true picture of all financial reports.
- Research and update notes to the financial statements in line with current reporting trends and International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Lead the preparation of Board reports and monthly management reports, translating financial and operational data into actionable insights for senior management and governance committee
- Prepare monthly and quarterly cash flow statement as per IFRS and IMF requirements
- Attends to internal and external audit queries relating to the general ledger timeously.
- Assist auditors understand Organization’s Accounts by explaining and directing them to the responsible division.
- Ensure prescribed External Auditor’s schedules are distributed to different Divisions and sections for adequate planning.
- Research on technical accounting issues for compliance with the Organizations’ policies and IFRS.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Studies or equivalent. • Relevant professional certification in ACCA, CIMA, CIS, CA
- Minimum of 3 years’ accounting /auditing experience.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
- Strong analytical, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong audit background, preferably with exposure to external audit or internal audit environments.
- Advanced technical expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), including complex accounting areas such as financial instruments, consolidation, and statutory reporting.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply accounting standards in a highly regulated environment.
