Accountant

Main Duties:

• Prepare statutory financial statements in line with IFRS and local accounting standards.
• Prepare the annual budgets of the company
• Prepare and analyse management reports and financial performance of the business against its specific targets
• Meet internal, Group and statutory reporting deadlines

• Manage the data interface between the operating system and the accounting system.
• Provide financial insight and analysis to drive the business performance of the organization
• Manage the finance team members and provide guidance and training
• Propose process automations and efficiency improvements
• Plan, organise and execute financial tasks and projects to ensure timely and accurate reporting
• Review of balance sheet reconciliations
• Preparation of interim and year-end audit information and liaison with internal and external audit
• Preparation of other statutory & legal reporting requirements
• Compliance with the Tax and regulatory authority IPEC and Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe
• Cash planning and investments
• Support in the preparation of Strategy & Board Packs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy (2.1 or better)
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIS, CIMA, CA(Z))
• Master’s degree an added advantage
• At least 3 years’ experience as an Accountant
• Insurance broking experience an added advantage
