Operations Manager

Duties & Responsibilities

Production

· Adequate Production planning and management of all services provisions, ensuring adequate resources, timely and quality delivery.

· Management of all designated projects to ensure timely and quality delivery.

· Preparation and submission of tender or quotation documents for designated enquiries and tenders.

· Engaging and liaising with clients to ensure service expectations are met on time and in full.

· Timely preparation of competent production and overall operations reports.

· Be the overall site lead where deployed.

Finance

· Ensuring delivery of projects withing set budgets.

· Preparation of competent Production and Projects costs reports.

· Identifying opportunities to expand client offerings to meet the organization’s revenue targets.

Human Resources

· Ensuring that all services and projects are right sized with competent and efficient personnel.

· Creating a stable working environment hinged on employee engagement and proactive response.

· Identifying and retaining critical staff

Safety, Health, Environment & Quality

· Must have knowledge and ability to implement the company’s Integrated Management System (i.e. QMS, EMS and OHS based on ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 respectively)

· Ensuring that operations are carried out in a safe and sustainable manner, maintaining Zero harm to employees and the environment.

· Ensuring that quality expectations of the clients are met always.

Competencies Required:

· Ability to plan and organize work

· Analytical thinking and problem solving

· Energetic and proactive, with ability to work without supervision

· Write clear and concise reports

· Communicate effectively orally

· Ability to respond quickly to requests

Qualifications:

Mechanical / Civil Engineer

A project management qualification is a pre-requisite

Must be a member in good standing of the Engineering Council of Zimbabwe

Experience:

At least 8 years post qualification in mining, engineering, construction or heavy industry at a senior level

Proven experience with managing projects

Proven experience with managing teams

Proven experience in tendering
