FRONT DESK OFFICER

Duties<ul><li>Patient reception and patient (customer) experience - welcomes patients pleasantly and politely on arrival, assisting with relevant information</li><li>Advises patients on the costs of requested tests, co-payments and shortfall requirements.</li><li>Checks to ensure that the request form is completed accurately and that all details are included.</li><li>Receives samples and checks for sample quantity adequacy, that the samples are collected in the right tubes and containers, and are not leaking in liaison with the Sorting Officer</li><li>Allocates system generated bar code number from the Laboratory Information System to the patient test request and samples</li><li>Captures all patient and test details on the request form into the system</li><li>Obtains identification and medical aid information from each patient to ascertain if the correct patient is being served and adequacy of pathology funding cover and member card validity</li><li>Advises paying patients on test prices and available payment modes (mobile, swipe and cash transactions).</li><li>Receipts all patient payments in line with the set tariffs and submits all daily takings to Accounts at the end of the day.</li><li>Reconciles daily cash receipts against cash in hand and submits reconciled receipts to Finance or any designated finance staff for checking and filing</li><li>Provides clients with proforma invoice on request for pre authorisations at their medical aid.</li><li>Safeguards cash, receipt books by ensuring that these are kept in a secure place always.</li><li>Receives, screens and directs all incoming calls to the appropriate individual or office promptly and accurately in a friendly and courteous manner.</li><li>Responds to enquiries, accepts messages and relays the same to the respective personnel as required.</li><li>Responds to internal staff telephone queries and arranges for repairs and maintenance of faulty telephone lines.</li><li>Notifies drivers and or scientists on sample collection sites and assign the task on the company web application.</li></ul> Requirements<ul><li>Diploma/Degree in Business Administration or equivalent professional qualification&nbsp;</li><li>2 years of Front Office experience in a healthcare or related environment</li></ul>
