  • 31% of participating organisations use the balanced scorecard system.

  • 26% of the participating organisations are using custom made systems.

  • 100% of the participating organisations from the retail industry do not use any performance management system.

  • 37% of the participants perform appraisals half-yearly, while 5% perform on an ad hoc basis.

  • 87% of the participants set their performance goals in line with the organisation strategy.

  • 52% of the participants do not link pay to performance.

  • 9 Sectors that had participants in this survey do not have an automated performance management system.

  • The primary concern raised by participants as the challenge in performance management is the lack of fairness in the performance reviews.
