Executive Director- Finance and Administration

We are seeking a highly seasoned and strategic Executive Director- Finance and Administration with a strong background in finance, proven administrative expertise, and the ability to inspire and lead teams to drive the growth and prosperity of our institution.

The Role

The Executive Director- Finance and Administration will play a key role in the organization by providing strategic oversight of all financial, administrative and operational functions to ensure that they are aligned with our research and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

•Leads financial strategy, planning, and management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

•Oversees the organization's administrative functions, including IT and company security.

•Develops and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and risk management.

•Manages relationships with banks, investors, and external partners.

•Drives business development and commercialization of intellectual property (IP), including licensing and spin-off ventures.

•Collaborates with researchers and cross-functional teams to develop and implement commercialization strategies.

•Trains and promotes awareness of financial principles, investments, and best practices across the organization.

•Ensures effective governance, risk management, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

•Makes sound and profitable financial investments.

Qualifications and Experience

•A master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

•Professional certification such as CA, CPA, or CMA is an added advantage.

•Minimum of 10 years of experience 4 of which should be in executive roles preferably in research institutions or technology-intensive industries.
