Refrigeration Technician

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on cold rooms, chillers, blast freezers, and ammonia refrigeration systems
• Install and commission refrigeration and air conditioning units in production and storage areas.
• Conduct fault diagnosis and respond swiftly to refrigeration-related breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and safety regulations.
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
• Collaborate with the production and quality assurance teams to maintain ideal processing temperatures.
• Responsible for supervising the refrigeration team at the processing plant
• Ensures all refrigeration spares & consumables are stored correctly & are always above critical stock levels

QUALIFICATIONS

• National Certificate or Class 1 Trade Test in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.
• At least 3 years of experience working with industrial refrigeration systems, preferably in the food or poultry processing industry.
• Experience with ammonia systems and HACCP-compliant environments is a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automated systems is a plus.
