Generator Technician

Academic Qualifications and Competences

• Diploma in Diesel Plant Fitting, Electrical, Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or equivalent trade qualification.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, alternators, control panels, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
•  Familiarity with health and safety standards and procedures.
•  Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• A valid driver’s license is an added advantage.

Experience Required

• Minimum of 2-3 years` of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

•   Ensure 100% functionality of Company generators.
•  Ensure all preventive planned maintenance is adhered to based on running hours.
• Installation and repairs of generators and auxiliary equipment like ATS, Switchgear.
• Ensure all jobs are done safely and SOPs are observed.
• Spares alignment and reconciliation.
• Respond promptly to emergency callouts and provide after-hours support when needed.
•  Conduct inspections and performance testing of generators to ensure compliance with operational standards.
