Resident Geologist

Responsibilities

• Conduct surface and underground geological mapping.
• Evaluate the mineral resource.
• Manages the control of grades
•  Ensures that a clear mine plan is in place.
• Assigns grades to the mining units.
• Defines ore and waste boundaries.
• Co-ordinate geological evaluation of mining claims.
• Manages exploration of gold and base metals.
• Plans drilling programs and drill hole positioning and ensures that close sampling is carried out to enhance better selectivity.
• Ensures proper classification of ore and waste so as to prevent ore losses or dilution.
• Manages the extraction of ore and waste.
• Prepares geological reports.
• Prepares exploration budgets.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Geology or any related field. 
• At least three (2) years’ experience preferably in surface gold mining. 
• Extensive use of geological software such as MapInfo, Surpac, Geosoft, Vulcan
• Good leadership skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and work under pressure to meet deadlines
