Academic Qualifications Required:


  • Degree Bachelor of Laws or acceptable equivalent.
  • Registered Legal Practitioner of the High Court of Zimbabwe.


Experience Required:


  • 3 years’ experience preferably gained in a corporate or banking environment or in the judicial system.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Engage with external counsel handling legal matters for and on behalf of the Organisation.
  • Review legal documents filed or to be filed at court and ensure observance of court processes.
  • Manage all legal correspondence.
  • Represent the organisation in the Labour Court on labour related disputes involving the Organisation.
  • Provide legal opinions and advice, drafting legal documents, and assisting in the formulation, review, and interpretation of legal documents and related information.
  • Assist in the conducting of in-house training on legal related matters to staff as and when necessary.
  • Conduct legal research and continuous review of legal instruments governing or impacting on the operations of the Organisation.
  • Review contracts and other legal or policy documents to assess their legal implications and provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Review and draft contracts, laymen’s-language statutory instruments, agreements, and internal policies, and ensuring full compliance with applicable statutory and legal requirements.
  • Manage the administration of contracts to improve performance on contracts.
  • Prepare, review, and amend contractual instruments involving the Organisation to ensure legal validity and alignment with the Organisation’s objectives when entering into such contracts.
