Security Manager

This position reports to Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for:

• Developing an overall quality system and security policy for the Security Department


• Involving the management team and ensuring that the team understands airport security, security technology and security processes


• Overseeing the team of security workers who ensure the safety of people and  property


• Monitoring and accessing safety systems to ensure compliance with laws and regulations


• Background checks of job candidates


• Working with the HR Manager for screening airline staff and flight crews


• Identifying weaknesses in airline security and making recommendations in order to improve safety


• Designing and drafting training programs related to the Security Department


• Interfacing with insurance companies


• Interfacing with the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe (CAAZ)


• Creating work schedules and plans to fill security staffing for all security checkpoints


• Recruiting security new hires

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 5years experience in a similar Security role


• Excellent communication skills


• Sensitivity toward others


• Be able to multi-task


• Be highly organized and able to operate standard security equipment


• Have the ability to honour confidentiality


• Computer literate


• Experience in the aviation field an advantage
