Qualifications

  • BSC Civil Engineering OR Electrical Engineering OR Mechanical Engineering Honours Degree.
  • Masters in Project management or equivalent qualification would be an advantage.
  • Experience 15 years managerial experience in a mining and processing environment.
  • Exposure to project management in leading mining companies.
  • Project Manager Experience for a processing plant construction or a full mine development project at capex budget of not less than US$100 million.

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent writing and computer skills.
  • Exposure to Primavera project planning an added advantage.
  • Excellent civil, mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge and skills.
  • Excellent proven project management skills on similar size projects.
  • Demonstrable experience in working with typical mining projects stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate personal effectiveness – the ability to guide the projects teams while achieving project objectives and balancing project constraints.

Main Purpose of Job

  • Reporting to the General Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for leading, managing, planning, directing and coordinating the organisation’s projects portfolio (of approximately US$524 million over five years) to achieve and or meet projects requirements and support strategic objectives.
  • The project management is accomplished through appropriate integration of the logically grouped project management processes (typically 42 processes) comprising initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and control and closing.
  • Project management typically involves:
  1. Managing project governance across the projects life cycle,
  2. Identifying projects requirements,
  3. Managing project management outputs over the project life cycle,
  4. Addressing the various needs, concerns, and expectations of the stakeholders as the project is planned and carried out,
  5. Balancing the competing project constraints including but not limited to scope, quality, schedule, budget, resources and risk management.
  6. Managing change during the projects life cycle.
  7. Achieving project objectives.

Job Objectives
