Overall Purpose







  • Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is the head of the Organisation secretariat and leads & manages the daily operations of the Institute by implementing board policies and resolutions, designing and implementing strategies that fulfil the vision and mission of the Institute.






 





 





Responsibilities







  • Leads, in conjunction with the Board, the development of the Institute’s strategy to maximize members’ value and enhance the positioning of the Institute.


  • Leads and oversees the implementation of the Institute’s long and short-term plans in accordance with its strategy.


  • Develop programs and events to retain members and attract new members consistent with established Institute policy.


  • Conducting a needs assessment of members and recommends solutions within the scope of the Institute.


  • Serve as the organisation’s official spokesperson.


  • Promote Institute image, activities and events along with quality customer service to all members, visitors and other stakeholders.


  • Helps prepare, plan, attend and participate in all Institute events and functions including any other sponsored events or functions.


  • Prepare and control an annual budget.


  • Collect other payments due to the Institute in conjunction with its activities.

Qualifications & Experience







  • Relevant Master’s degree with a  minimum of 10 years relevant experience, 5 years of which must have been at managerial level OR any relevant undergraduate degree with a minimum 10 years relevant experience, 8 years of which must have been at managerial level


  • Must have an excellent appreciation of local and global issues and trends related to corporate governance


  • Must be able to identify and propose relevant policy issues and to develop a strategic approach to issues related to the Institutes requirements.


  • Must be able to provide strategic leadership to the Institute and objectively balance conflicting needs/interests of the Institute and exercise decisive leadership at all times.


  • Must demonstrate a strong ability to ensure that the financial aspects of the organisation (strategic budgets, financial systems) are appropriately managed and to implement & supervise control systems and ensure transparency & accountability within the organisation.
