  • Carry out mechanical repairs and maintenance of all plant equipment.


  • Effectively use resources to reduce maintenance cost.


  • Report daily on equipment performance to the Engineering Foreman in relation to breakdowns.


  • Execute identified projects in relation to the plant at agreed timeframes.


  • Effectively and efficiently execute any tasks assigned by the Engineering Foreman or Plant Manager.


  • Ensure that all work is carried out at the highest standards of workmanship recorded on job-cards to be returned to the foreman on daily basis.


  • Carry out planned maintenance for all plant equipment timeously.


  • Maintain a high standard of awareness with regard to plant equipment in his/her direct and indirect care.


  • Maintain the highest standard of safety awareness.


  • Adherence at all times to all safety precautions and regulations as laid down by Factories act.


  • Carry out machining of spares.


  • Recommend equipment replacements.
