Main Duties/ Responsibilities

Strategy and Policy:

  • Leads in the design and development of valuation policy and ensures approval/certification from the Managing Director.
  • Delivers relevant strategies, policies and procedures for the efficient operation of the valuation department.
  • Ensures that proper processes and procedures are strictly adhered to in the department daily.
  • Conducts quality control on all valuation work.
  • Generates new business.
  • Prepares divisional reports to the board.
  • Conducts or chairs departmental meetings on a weekly basis

Budgets and Budgetary Control:

  • Analyses the department's financial position, highlighting risks and opportunities and taking management action if a material variance is likely to occur.
  • Prepares the overall budgets by determining target revenues and expenses for the department.
  • Reviews expenses regularly by aligning actual expenses to recoveries.
  • Follows up on debtors in the department and recommends the appropriate course of action tor recovery.

Business Development:

  • Builds positive internal and external customer relationships.
  • Salvages business under threat through appropriate interventions which includes engaging clients etc.
  • Builds and maintains relationships between clients and the organisation through conducting relationship management meetings with clients.
  • Seeks for opportunities of open tenders and responds to the relevant request for proposal/expression of interests.
  • Ensures that the business meets its current and future business growth targets in line with set strategic thrust, by understand client's business environment and maintaining good business relationships.

Staff Management:

  • Manages and develops the continued professional development process for all Valuations staff.
  • Ensures that adequate resources are provided to the valuations staff for effecient service deliver.
  • Undertakes appraisals and regular one-to-one meetings with all directly managed staff.
  • Participates in the recruitement and selection process of department staff
  • Ensures Valuers' have adequate protective clothing and resources for all valuations.
  • Ensures adherence of Occupational health safety procedures across the department.

Person Specifications
Degree in Real Estate

Masters in Real Estate an added advantage

Post graduate Diploma in REIZ
ARICS wiII be an added advantage

Registration with the Valuers Council of Zimbabwe and Estate Agents Council of Zimbabwe
